‘Thanks for Killing Your..’- Astounded by His Intensity, Stan Wawrinka’s 47-Year-Old Coach Shares Message as US Open Prep Heats Up

Coaches are one of the most important parts of a player’s journey in sports. A player reaches new heights as coaches help them discover their strengths and weaknesses. Since they spend much time together, coaches and players develop a great bond over time. Stan Wawrinka is one player who has a close bond with one of his coaches. He recently played a practice match which only serves to show how much the Swiss player has improved.

Magnus Norman and Stan Wawrinka have developed a great bond over time. The two had a fantastic partnership and achieved several titles together. In fact, it was with Norman that Wawrinka earned his best titles in the world. Now, Wawrinka returned to his coach to show him his form.

As Wawrinka and Norman prepare to make their claim in the US Open, the two are focusing heavily on training. Wawrinka has not been able to go far in many competitions in the last few months. Therefore, the Swiss player is engaging a different mindset to reach a prominent round in the upcoming US Open.

To show his mental improvement, he played a practice match with Norman. The Swedish coach shared the aftermath of their practice match. He sarcastically thanked his student for exhausting him to the point of no return. He shared a picture of his sweaty face along with the caption, “Haven’t been that tired on court in 5 years! Thanks for killing your old coach @standwawrinka85 😃😂🥹“.

Norman is a great coach for his student and always pushes him to achieve more. Not only is he there to motivate his student, but he also hypes them up quite a bit. 

Magnus Norman on the level of Wawrinka

After suffering from many injuries in 2021, Wawrinka announced that he would come back to the ATP Tour, starting from the 2022 French Open. For him, nothing is bigger than tennis. Therefore, despite any injuries, he aims to come back to tour and make his claim to the biggest titles. Norman did not fail to announce his comeback either and hyped Wawrinka up, claiming him to be the player following the big four of tennis.

With three grand slam titles, he follows the big four in a grand manner. Now with another major coming up, can he and Norman make it four?
