After an incredible run at the Australian Open,  Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has claimed the top spot in the ATP rankings. In doing so, the 35-year-old, in his hot form, has equaled the record of 22 Grand Slam wins. Notably, almost everyone in the tennis realm is applauding his remarkable victory in Melbourne Park.

However, there are some who are not impressed with Djokovic’s triumph at another Grand Slam event. One of the fans recently accused the Serbian of ‘cheating and bribing’ authorities in Melbourne. It was his fellow ATP player, Andy Roddick who came to defend him while also shutting down the fan.

The former American tennis player recently took to his social media to lavish praise on the ‘Djoker’ for winning his 10th Australian Open title. Andy Roddick further said that the Serbian is in a surreal form right now as he has dominated some of the best players on the tour. He also said that it is only the Spaniard, Rafael Nadal, in his form, might have a shot to square off H2H with Novak Djokovic.

Taking note of these comments, one of the fans accused the Serbian of ‘cheating’ and ‘bribing’ the immigration minister of Australia. The fan also said the 35-year-old rigged the draws of the Grand Slam event in Melbourne Park.

He asserted that others participating in the tournament got “very hard draws” except him. The fan added, “Any title on & after 2021 means nothing,Psycho.!!Justice will be served.!! For Sure,For Sure.!! 💪💪”

Later, Roddick came across those ‘disrespectful’ comments on his social media posts about Djokovic. In his blunt response, the American shut down the fan to defend his fellow ATP star.

He said, “This is unhinged. Players don’t make draws. There was no bribery. He’s just that good. You may not like him but you can’t take away his ability to get to three sets before an opponent.”

Roddick also reminisced about his rivalry with Djokovic

On the same Twitter post, another fan reminded the American about his US Open 2008 clash with the Serbian. During the event, Djokovic was struggling with injury issues as he met Roddick in the semifinal round of the tournament. However, Roddick poked fun at his injury woes and further got into a lot of controversy and drama.

Later Djokovic outclassed the former tennis player in a four-set thriller match. Talking about the same, Roddick said that the Serbian “kicked his a**,” after enhancing his fitness levels.
