If anyone knows anything for sure at a tennis match involving Nick Kyrgios, it is that there will be some drama involved. And in one as highly anticipated as a Nadal-Kyrgios duel, it is obvious that some interesting things are sure to go down.

In the quarterfinal match at the Indian Wells 2022, Nick Kyrgios and Rafael Nadal are fighting it out to reach the semi-finals at the Indian Wells. Nick Kyrgios, being his regular self was talking to himself, urging the crowd to hype him up, and getting agitated when shots were not going his way. But then, after a particularly tense point at in the first set, he smashed his racquet earning himself a code violation.

Nick Kyrgios’s action cause his a set

Nick Kyrgios is famous for his on-court antics,  and sometimes he goes a bit too far, without assessing the situation at hand.

While aware that he had a code violation, and another one will give a point penalty, Kyrgios chose to vent his frustration when Nadal had 6 set points in the tie-break. He was preparing to serve when he got annoyed by the amount of noise that the crowd was making, and he shouted “Shut the fuck up” and this got him his second code violation, and ultimately a point penalty.

The match which until then had been more or less a battle of equals was suddenly tipped in the Spaniard’s favour, looking to extend his match-winning streak to 19, after winning three titles since the beginning of the year.
