The Miami Open 2021 is underway and fans are quite excited about the tournament. However, they also received some really unfortunate news ahead of the tennis event. Former World No. 1 Andy Murray backed out of the ATP 1000 Masters at the last moment.
Even though Andy Murray looked completely fit at the recently concluded Rotterdam Open 2021, he caught an injury recently. As per reports, Murray is currently suffering from a left groin injury and cannot even train right now.
“I woke up in the middle of the night at about 2:30, rolled over, and felt like my groin was a bit sore,” said Murray in a recent interview. “When I got up at six in the morning to go to the toilet, I was in a lot of pain walking. Any time I extended my left hip and stuff, it was a struggle to put weight on it. I have no idea what happened. It wasn’t like I got injured in practice, in the gym, or anything like that. It’s just a freak thing and I don’t know exactly why it happened or what the problem is yet.”

How long will Andy Murray be out for?
Although it is not clear how long the injury will take to heal, there are suspicions that it might last till June. In a situation like this, Murray will not just miss the upcoming clay-court season but will also not play at the French Open 2021.
After not even qualifying to play the qualifiers at the Australian Open 2021, it’ll be yet another setback for Murray if he misses the Roland Garros this year. However, these are still unclear reports and Murray will hope to make a comeback soon.
