Have you ever seen or heard the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, being pushed or dismissed off the court? However, a rare incident revealed by the former Nike director, Mike Nakajima, in his latest book, “The Roger Federer Effect,” revealed the contrasting and shocking incident. Once, the Swiss tennis legend was dismissed from a not-so-good tennis court. Can you guess who pushed the 20-time Grand Slam champion off the tennis court? His own sons!

In the incredible over 2- decade long career, the former World No.1 has had many remarkable and inspirational moments. However, travelling around the world on tour also meant less time with family. And hence, whenever he got time to spend with his kids, Federer certainly wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world. Even if it meant playing on a not-so sophisticated tennis court

Mike Nakajima recently discussed a few excerpts and interesting incidents relating to Federer’s life. Given the huge impact of the Swiss Great not only in his contribution on-the-tennis-court but also off-court.

When Roger Federer was not allowed on the tennis court

In his book, Nike’s former director opened up about an unheard and personal incident involving the 20-time Grand Slam champion. Anybody would love to catch a glimpse of Federer’s private time with his family; and Nakajima had the liberty to witness closely; from his bedroom.

He said, “From my bedroom, I could see the tennis court.” However, the interesting fact was that it embarrassed the director to see the legend playing on a not so fancy court. But we could not say the same for Federer, as he enjoyed those precious moments with his sons. He further added, “So I saw Roger feeding balls to his kids. It was almost embarrassing to see Roger Federer…  playing tennis on one of the worst tennis courts.”

Later on, the Swiss Maestro confided about his time, on the court with Nakajima. And the author of “The Roger Federer Effect,” was shocked, to say the least. “he told me one of the boys said: ‘Dad, can you get off the court so my brother and I can play?’ He was on the side and his little boys were playing together.”

After hearing Roger getting dismissed off the court, Nakajima amusingly asked about the last time somebody didn’t allow him on the court. He asked, “Hey, Rog, when was the last time you got kicked off a court? He just smiled … must be fun to be around for his kids.”
