World no.6 Carlos Alcaraz has been the most consistent player this season. With four titles already to his name, he has reached new heights just at the age of 19. Recently, at the Madrid Open, he beat Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in back-to-back matches, which was truly an incredible feat. Interestingly, he is the only player to do so on the red surface.
Although he won the Madrid Open, he doesn’t want to celebrate just yet, as he wants to win a Grand Slam title this year.

Carlos Alcaraz talked about his main goal this year
After his recent win at the Madrid Open, Alcaraz talked about his goals in an interview with Marca. Interestingly, he kept his feet on the ground despite having back-to-back success at Barcelona and Madrid. Moreover, he still has one goal in his mind, i.e. to win a Grand Slam title at the end of this year.
“It’s obviously a good goal. Winning here gives me a lot of confidence ahead of Roland Garros and it’s something I have as my goal. My goal this year is to win a Grand Slam and hopefully it will be in Paris,” Alcaraz stated. (Google Translate)

Earlier, the 19-year-old Spaniard decided to withdraw from the Rome Masters due to an injury to his ankle. Undoubtedly, it was a smart decision on his part, as he has already won two tournaments on clay courts. Right now, he probably needs a proper rest before he can get back to full fitness and play at his full potential at the French Open.
Meanwhile, the champion is aiming to win a Grand Slam title this year, and Paris is possibly his best chance to win it. However, there is a vast difference between five-set tennis and three-set tennis. It will be interesting to see if he can conquer the Roland Garros.
