“I’m going, I’m going for him,”– declared the American tennis star, Frances Tiafoe as he hyped the tennis circuit by issuing a challenge to Carlos Alcaraz. And to ensure that he gave it his all on the grass court against the defending champion, Tiafoe had unending support, not only from his team, but also from his partner, Ayan Broomfield. And it seems to be working for the World No. 29 as he started on a strong foot against the Spaniard. Though the question remains, would he pump his fist in victory today, or Alcaraz would demolish all the challenges?

The tennis circuit is flourishing with tennis couples all around, and Tiafoe is certainly on the list with his girlfriend. The grass swing has not been easy for the American. He withdrew from Queen’s Club after a close shave with injury to keep his chances for Wimbledon intact. While he was all geared up to face the tournament favorite, his girlfriend shared a snippet of his behind-the-scenes preparation in an Instagram post.

In the initial pictures, she confirms her presence in Big Foe’s corner but amidst all the glamour, the two are seen hitting on the grass court, showcasing a story of unwavering support for the World No.29 as he faces the Spaniard in what would be their 3rd encounter until now. This video drew attention not only from tennis fans and Tiafoe but also from Tommy Paul’s partner, Paige Lorenze, and Nick Kyrgios’ partner Costeen Hatzi. The latter was all “Wowwww” mesmerized by the chemistry of the couple on both off and on the court.

Until now it has been a balanced scale for both the players with their H2H record at 1-1 match each, but this game would turn the scales in the winner’s favor. Moreover, neither of the two players wants to exit Wimbledon at this stage. However, Tiafoe himself knows Alcaraz’s form, as he called him ‘hell of a player.’ Would he conquer the defending champion? Only time will tell.

Can Francis Tiafoe overcome this ‘hell of a player’ to continue his Wimbledon campaign?

Many tennis legends have praised Carlos Alcaraz’s exceptional skills. He is a favorite to replace one of the pillars of the Big 3 and maybe create his own league as he proceeds in the tennis circuit. Tiafoe is no different, as he acknowledges Alcaraz’s tennis. However, the stronger the opponent you face, the stronger you become in the process. A rivalry fueled by healthy competition.

Tiafoe certainly knows that the Spaniard would be around for a long time. And there is no other way to glory than to defeat him. He said, “He’s a hell of a player. He’s going to be a problem for a very long time. Again, I mean, I still had my looks. I still had my chances, so… It shows where I’m at.” And as he stepped on the grass to test himself against Alcaraz. He would be hoping to culminate the encounter in an upset.

However, whether that upset would be today or not depends on how Tiafoe leverages the chances presented to him on the court, during the much-anticipated encounter.
