Taylor Fritz has high hopes riding on him this year at the Paris Olympics. The American talent, along with compatriot Coco Gauff, leads Team USA in the event’s tennis division. Fritz has had a successful start to his Olympic campaign which saw him victorious in his men’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles opening-round clashes respectively. Subsequently, his victories at the quadrennial event elicited a reaction from his influencer girlfriend Morgan Riddle.

In the men’s singles opener, the American dispatched Kazakhstani Alexander Bublik in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. On the other hand, during his men’s doubles clash, Fritz joined forces with countryman Tommy Paul to brush aside the Canadian duo of Milos Raonic and Felix Auger Aliassime. Meanwhile, his mixed doubles campaign with compatriot Coco Gauff thrashed the Argentine talents Maximo Gonzalez and Nadia Podoroska. On Tuesday, July 30, the California native took on Team England’s Jack Draper in the second round of the Olympic Games.

The contest witnessed the triumph of Fritz. Despite losing the first set to Draper, the American found his composure to register a comeback victory in what was a three-set showdown, 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-2. This, in turn, prompted his girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, to reserve a few words for his hard-fought win. Following the duel, the 26-year-old took to his official Instagram handle to post an on-court snap of himself. Later, in response, his lover commented on the post and hilariously wrote, “Full heart, small nips, can’t lose.”

For the unversed,  the tennis star has been romantically involved with the influencer since 2020. Their banter is something all tennis fans are familiar with. Riddle once shared an Instagram story where she asked Fritz to “Name a girl.” The American simply replied, “You,” which was accompanied by the caption, “This mf is so scared of me.” 

The duo is often spotted together at several tour events. In hopes of capturing as much content as possible for her followers, Riddle also uploaded insights into events for fans.

Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend has taken a potshot at certain aspects of the Olympic Games in Paris this season. Riddle joined her boyfriend on the Paris trip and uploaded a bunch of material for her followers. Amongst the snapshots and videos posted on the influencer’s account, she also voiced her take on the variety of options available at the quadrennial event.

She claimed that the Games have so far paled when compared to the prestigious Roland Garros, which is the official arena for the Olympics. In an Instagram story, Riddle’s tennis-specific assessment expressed that the clay court Major trumps what the Games offered to fans in Paris. “Tennis specifically, the Roland Garros site feels very different. The plethora of bars, restaurants and food stands are closed – just a few food stalls and coffee, definitely not as glam as RG”.

Fritz will next lock horns with Italian tennis professional Lorenzo Musetti for a place in the event’s fourth round. The contest is scheduled to go down on Wednesday, July 31.
