Match tickets for any sports event are rather expensive. Tickets for events at the level of the ATP 1000 Masters are an expense that many can’t afford often. Therefore, when a match gets canceled for reasons beyond the viewer’s control, people would expect that they would get a refund or a transfer ticket. However, the recent Italian Open denied the opportunity for the ticket buyers for a refund, as revealed by a tennis fan.

The Italian Open was not the only tournament to have caused controversy recently. The Madrid Open organizers landed themselves in a pickle after the final. Daniela Hantuchova, a tennis commenter, accused the match organizers of favoritism for Carlos Alcaraz.

The ongoing Italian Open has created all the buzz for fans as exciting matches have kept the viewers glued. However, the current weather forecast in Rome has put heavy doubts about the continuation of the schedule. But the sad news for fans did not end there.

After reading the policy regarding the ticket status of the Italian Open, viewers the tournament would not issue any refund. A tennis fan shared a screenshot of the policy, which states that the price of the ticket can only be refunded if no matches or training scheduled for the particular day take place.

The user also said that people shouldn’t expect reimbursement if even a single ball is played. “I see people have noticed the Rome weather forecast… don’t hold your breath waiting for a refund if there’s even a moments play 😂💀

Madrid Open organizers accused of favoritism

The controversy in tennis does not end at the Italian Open. Madrid Open organizers also landed themselves in the midst of a controversy. As the final of the tournament ended with Carlos Alcaraz as victorious, one commenter said that his opponent experienced injustice.

Daniela Hantuchova stated that since the court was watered twice during the match, it became easier for Alcaraz to return the serve.
