“From the Royal box, her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, to come watch me. She’s like my idol,”– said Raducanu as she made a terrific start to her Wimbledon campaign. However, with her early exit from the tournament, a part of her dream couldn’t be fulfilled. However, Wimbledon is known for one thing: its commitment to traditions and rules. And here is her Royal Highness is back at Wimbledon this year, just like every time, in a rare appearance after her dreading cancer diagnosis.

Nobody wants to miss the conclusion of Wimbledon and the miracle run of Novak Djokovic as he faces Carlos Alcaraz for the title. And in a rare public appearance, her twice since opening up about her diagnosis, Princess Kate is back on the tennis court with her sister and daughter, to fulfill the wishes of the players. And maybe to catch some fresh air as she watches a redo of last year on the Centre Court.

However, en route to the Royal box, the princess made sure to fulfill Raducanu’s wish as she met every British tennis star. While Raducanu stood in attendance, at the end of the lane, with a smile on her face, in her tennis gear eagerly waiting for the Duchess to approach her before making her way to the Royal Box. Further at the Royal Box, the whole audience stood to welcome Kate. And Wimbledon shared the heartfelt reception of the Duchess on their official X handle with the caption: “A wonderful Centre Court welcome for our Patron HRH, The Princess of Wales💜”

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been a common sight at the Wimbledon every year, accompanied by their kids. However, this year has been a difficult one for the royal household, as the King and the Princess both are fighting battles with cancer. However, it has been an endearing experience for tennis fans to see her on the court after a long hiatus from the public to recover in privacy.

With her coming to the court, she has not only fulfilled Raducanu’s wish but must have given some strength to the players on the court as Djokovic himself is there just 20 days after his surgery. However, those who might have forgotten that Kate is one of the sportiest royals out there.

It’s not every day that tennis fans would get a glimpse of the Federer beaten on grass, and since his retirement, that is almost impossible. While conversing with them, Federer and the Duchess were involved in a match. And the latter’s skills in the sport surprised Federer as she delivered the winning shot. Surprising both herself and Federer. But being a good and charming sport he is, Federer was all praises for the Princess for her tennis prowess. As he declared the shot “amazing!” much to everyone’s delight.
