However, it now looks like Williams and Federer have to take the back seat in enthralling the audience with their stellar on-court technique.
The entire tennis community was recently taken aback by the American star Peyton Stearns’ fantastic forehands in the US Open. Emphasizing the same, the 21-year-old player recently revealed her secret behind hitting some of the most powerful strokes on the women’s circuit.

The former NCAA singles champion recently made headlines for her phenomenal run at her home Grand Slam event in New York. For the very first time in her competitive journey, Peyton Stearns has reached the round of 16 of a major event after her dominating win against the British number one, Katie Boulter. In her third-round match, the 21-year-old player thumped Boulter in straight sets, 6-4,6-3.

During the encounter with the Brit, it was Stearns’ outstanding forehand that drew the most attention. Notably, the American tennis youngster was later asked about the inspiration behind her uncanny stroke-making ability. In her post-match press conference, Stearns said, “I’ve always kind of had that raw power, good technique. I honestly couldn’t tell you. It was just there.”

Now, after her massive victory against the Brit, one of the biggest challenges awaits Stearns in her next round.

Stearns will face a reigning Grand Slam champion
The American has so far delivered some of her best performances to outshine top players like Katie Boulter and Clara Tauson. However, in the next round, Stearns has been given the challenging task of squaring off against the 9th seed and the reigning Wimbledon champion, Markéta Vondroušová. Given her initial round victories, the Czech tennis star has brought her stellar grass court season form to the Grand Slam event in New York.
