Roger Federer recently got eliminated from the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Facing Hubert Hurkacz in the quarter-finals, he suffered a humiliating defeat as the Polish player crushed him in straight sets. Interestingly, he even bagel’d the Swiss maestro in the last set, winning the match 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-0.
Federer probably missed his last chance of winning a Grand Slam with his exit in the quarters of the Wimbledon Championships 2021. This might even prove to be the last Wimbledon for him as he’ll be 40 next month.
There are clouds of uncertainty that are currently looming over the future of the World No.8 player. Many believe that this was the last time he stepped his feet on the Centre Court. There are even high chances that if he doesn’t play well at the US Open 2021, he might announce his retirement from the sport later this year. However, nothing has been confirmed as of now.

The Wimbledon Championships 2021 proved to be a big nightmare for Serena Williams as she injured herself in her very first match at the Grand Slam. As a result, she withdrew from the tournament without finishing even a single set.
The tennis queen will also be 40 this year and in such a situation, there are doubts over her fitness. Even though she is playing at the US Open 2021, it is possible but unlikely that she’ll not play at the next Wimbledon Championships.
