Michael Jordan and Larry Bird are NBA legends. They have etched their name into the history books of the NBA for an eternity. While Chicago Bulls and the Boston Celtics are a major rivalry in the Eastern Conference, Jordan and Bird shared a lot of sincere respect for each other. Even when Larry Bird almost missed out on the 1992 Dream Team, Jordan spoke out to defend Bird when the media criticized his inclusion.
So while it might seem like blasphemy to NBA fans, it has recently come to light that Michael Jordan could have played for the Boston Celtics. That’s right, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan could have teamed up in the NBA. And not just for All-Star games.
Former Celtics player, coach, and manager M. L. Carr claimed that Michael Jordan could have donned the white and green uniform in his career. If only Jerry Krause allowed it.

Former NBA executive M. L. Carr appeared on SiriusXM Radio for an interview. While talking about rumors of things that Michael could have done in his retirement, Carr made a bold claim. He said that he was willing to give a first-round pick just to talk to Michael, to make him join the Boston Celtics. Yes, you read that correctly, Michael Jordan could have joined the Celtics. Here’s why Carr thought he could’ve convinced Michael. “I’ve known Michael all his life.” he said. While it is a bold claim, it seems unlikely that Michael would have agreed.
Even then, Carr said, “I felt that given just the chance to talk to him, to get him to come back out of retirement, I’d be worth laying out a first-round pick. Because I felt like I could convince him to put on a green uniform, have an incredible new marketing path and make a fortune doing that.”

Even in retirement, Michael was extremely valuable to the NBA. Franchises were willing to give first-round picks just to talk to him. Even though he did eventually sign for the Wizards, does him going to Celtics sound too absurd to be true?
