In the 19th season of his career, LeBron James has continued to play at an extremely high level. Posting numbers few could at his age, the 37-year-old is already the GOAT in the eyes of many fans. Having said that, James has finally crossed NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to achieve this iconic achievement.

He completed this unbelievable feat during the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Golden State Warriors. While this achievement was a long time coming, it remains just as impressive. After all, no other player who has ever played in the NBA has ever scored more than James – regular and postseason combined.

Naturally, the fans see this historic achievement by the Laker’s talisman as a cause to celebrate.

Looking back at James’ illustrious career thus far, it only makes sense that James passed Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring list.

Most fans thought it right to point out that James is indeed their GOAT now. “We are witnessing greatness,” wrote another fan, adding that the Lakers star and his game should certainly be appreciated.

Some users did believe that it will be a bigger achievement when James crosses Abdul-Jabbar on the regular-season list, and not the combined list. However, it does not lessen the impact of James’ current record. Furthermore, few also pointed out that his feat should remain impressive to everyone, even if they are not fans of ‘King’ James.

Frank Vogel on James’ record

Of course, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was among those happy about James’ latest record. “That’s pretty cool. It’s incredible,” said Vogel before the Warriors game. “Everything the guy has done throughout his career is just remarkable. It’s why I believe he’s the greatest ever to play”. 

Interestingly, James was placed third on the regular-season all-time list before the game and No. 1 on the all-time postseason scoring list. The four-time NBA champion has also managed to reach this point in 1616 games. Abdul-Jabbar did it in 1797.
