After a dismal start to their season where they lost two games in a row, the Lakers were looking for their first win of the season as they hosted a young Memphis Grizzlies side. Led by an electrifying guard like Ja Morant, the Grizzlies were in perfect form coming into the game.
With wins over the Cavaliers and Lakers’ city rivals the LA Clippers, Morant and the Grizzlies proved that they might be inexperienced but they do have the firepower to leave an impact on any team.
The game got off to a great start as both the sides battled it out. While the Grizzlies initially did take a lead, the Lakers ultimately edged Morant and Co. with a 29-24 scoreline at the end of the first quarter. The team continued to surpass the Grizzlies in the second quarter as well, but Memphis tried to rally a comeback in the third.

‘Brodie’ who undoubtedly is one of the fastest players in the league could have had a contested dunk, but the former MVP chose to pass to Davis instead who easily flushed the ball for a two points.
Not only was the play effective, it was smart, and it was fast as well. The inclusion of Westbrook is supposed to have a great impact on team pace, and this is apparent in the first three games. If the Lakers big three can continue to carve out such plays reglarly, they will be must-see TV.
