Chloe Kim tries the flashy 1260°
With a score of 94.00 on her first run, Kim showed everyone why she will go down as an all-time great. Moreover, she landed two 1080s along with a 900 and backside 540 to bring home the gold. With a sensational first run, Kim raised her game and tried a 1260. It is one of the hardest tricks in the playbook. The first 1260 seen in the men’s competition was back in 2010. Hence, it takes a gargantuan effort to land the fabled trick.

It is an incredible achievement for Kim to have even attempted this. The degree of difficulty to do a cab 1260 is incredible. She ended up slipping at the last moment but Kim is happy with her performance. What’s more impressive is that she delivered to 1080s yet again, to win the gold in Beijing. Shades of the 2018 Pyeongchang Games were evident.

Same routines
The young teenager became the youngest snowboarder at 17 to win the Olympic gold medal in the half-pipe competition. Repeating the same tricks and adding some fresh combos to it, fetched her the second gold medal of her career. Although her score of the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics could not be matched, Kim put in a solid run, this time around to win the gold medal. Trying the cab 1260 was just to put the cherry on the top.
One thing is for sure, she will do it again. She pulled off those rotations and slipped away at the last moment. Kim’s hunger is incredible, and she wants to dominate the sport. Ever since she was young, her passion for snowboarding helped her reach places that no woman has in the half-pipe competition. A legend indeed.
