This has to be the mother of all comebacks! With a disappointing first run in the half-pipe qualifying competitions, Shaun White is back with a bang. Time and time again he rises like a phoenix and showcases his outrageous skills on the snowboard. Despite falling down in his first run, he returned to salvage some pride and put in an epic second run to give him a chance to win a medal in his final Olympic Games.

Shaun White qualifies for the final
The first run saw him score 24.25 after slipping when doing a trick. However, he lifted his game up during the second run and finished fourth with 86.25 on the scoreboard. By starting with a giant frontside 1080, he got himself set up for the next set of tricks. Following that, with another 1080, he ended his run with frontside 540 and showed his love for the camera. The sensational ace will enter the final round of the competition.

Earlier, he predicted the top four to be the same way at the end of the qualifying competition. There were no doubts about the leader as Ayumu Hirano scored 93.25 in his second run. He leads the pack with Australian James Scotty following with a 91.25. Japan’s Hirano Ruka finished third while having a 0.75 advantage over White.
