The MMA community has seen several bouts where the skill levels of opponents were poles apart. One such match had happened in 2015. It shocked viewers to see the unmatched skill levels and a vicious knockout.
‘MacMally’ on Twitter recently shared a short clip of the previously viral video. He was in disbelief that such a fight even took place. As per ‘MMA Fighting‘, Ilima-Lei MacFarlane and Katie Castro were the two fighters in the video. MacFarlane knocked Castro out within ten seconds.

Twitter, thus, reacted to the video that was shared. MMA fans had a variety of things to say about the video. One Twitter user questioned the reason behind the fight.

Further, a Twitter user also posted a screenshot of Castro’s previous two fights. According to it, she had lost those two fights in a similar way.

Many felt that Castro looked ill-prepared for the fight. They named her “soccer mom” because of her appearance. Naturally, questions cropped up about how and who exactly sanctioned such a fight.

As per ‘MMA Fighting’, the fight took place under the controversial Xplode Fight Series. However, Gregg Sharp- the owner of Xplode had said that Castro was not a soccer mom. He felt the term used for Castro was the root cause of all the fuss regarding the fight.
However, the matchup didn’t seem to look bad on paper. It was Castro’s third fight and was MacFarlane’s professional debut. The former fighter was reportedly a last-minute fill-in.

Speaking about the fight, Sharp said, “The quality of the fight turned out to be poor and unfortunately we’re in the position we’re in now. If that fight ended in a rear-naked choke in 42 seconds, this wouldn’t be the same case.”
He also explained Castro’s background in fighting. He said that Katie Castro was a street fighter.
MacFarlane, however, became the women’s flyweight champion at Bellator MMA. Unfortunately, she lost the title and is on a two-fight loss skid.
