Formula 1 by nature, always pits teammates against each other. That’s just how the way it works. However, ever so often we come across two teammates who break this stereotype and show us with kindness we can win anything, not just races. We are talking about the former AlphaTauri pairing Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda. The pairing gave us a glimpse of their still budding friendship and the internet’s heart melted.

The two teammates became extremely close during their time together at AlphaTauri. In fact, the entire Internet mourned their separation when Gasly announced his decision to join Alpine, including Tsunoda. However, the two have not let their on-track rivalry still come in the way and Gasly’s latest Instagram post is proof.

Gasly posted a photo on his social media with Tsunoda as the two went karting to relive the old days. Gasly captioned the post, “Racing, eat, sleep and repeat! Good couple of days at the track with the one & only @yukitsunoda0511 😁” and it had photos of the two battling it out on the track.

In one video, we can even see the two being extremely competitive as well, just like all friends are. We see the two exceeding track limits as Tsunoda tries to maintain his lead over Gasly while the Frenchman tailgates his best friend.

The seemingly extremely fun-filled activity with the two friends catching up has melted the internet’s heart as the fans swarmed the comments section with approval.

After his Alpine announcement, Gasly confessed, “But no matter what happens, “I have a good relationship with Yuki, and I don’t think our relationship will change,” and he’s staying true to his word. The two have not let the different team and on-track rivalry come in the way and it’s evident. Their winter break karting post was enough to convince the fans that this is the best friendship in the sport.
