The biggest extravaganza in the bodybuilding realm is just sixteen weeks away, and every athlete has started their prep for the show. The current Men’s Physique Mr. Olympia Ryan Terry also kicked off his preparation for the 60th anniversary of Mr. Olympia last week. Recently, he shared a series of images and videos of his intense back workout giving fans a glimpse of behind the scenes.

After winning last year’s title, Terry is training much harder to remain the Men’s physique champion at this year’s championship. He shared the routine he follows along with the exercises he does. Terry titles his workout “No fancy edit – solid back workout.” He kicked off his workout with the T-Bar row. The Men’s Physique bodybuilder advised going for at least four sets. Starting with a warmup set of fifteen reps, followed by three working sets of fifteen reps. The last will be your drop set, taking a plate after every six reps until failure.

Then he moved to the single-hand rows and did four working sets of twelve reps with each hand. The next exercise Terry did was the plate-loaded machine row-pronated grip. The current Mr. Olympia did four working sets of eight reps. He advised everyone to maintain a correct form and explained, “hips back and leant more into the pad (strict form) then straight into normal@position and pull the weight however you see fit.

Terry also did some dumbbell pullovers and stretched them to four working sets. He mentioned doing ten to twelve reps per set. Then he moved to the standing machine cable rows and ended his workout by doing the pin-loaded lat pull-down. The Men’s physique bodybuilder did four sets of twelve to fifteen reps. Terry will be making huge changes in the training regime with this year’s prep.

Ryan Terry aims to improve his consistency

The bodybuilder previously confessed to being inconsistent after winning the Olympia. He posted a series of images of himself working out. The current Mr. Olympia captioned the image, “Since the Olympia, I’ve been quite inconsistent for the first time in my life.. work life commitments have taken precedence and trying to get @rtfitness__ to a finish point that I can be proud of and ready to open up to the world has been a real struggle.

However, this year Terry is consistent with his workout and training regime. He drops a post of him training in the gym and sharing his roster with his fans to help them. “We are nearly there now though and I am more than ready to get back into my routine and hit the new year hard,” wrote the Men’s Physique bodybuilder.

After winning last year’s Olympia, Terry will be coming to this year’s Olympia with a much-improved physique to retain the title.
