Chris Hemsworth has built one of the most impressive physiques among all of Hollywood’s leading men. The actor had a great physique even before signing up to play MCU’s “Thor”. However, he took his physique to the next level for the 2011 film. Over the years, Hemsworth has starred as the God of Thunder in four Thor films. For each film, he’s put on more muscle. Yet with age, the Australian is finding it hard to keep up.
In a behind-the-scenes Disney+ documentary for “Thor: Love and Thunder”, the 40-year-old explained how he bulked up for “Thor 4” in 2022. “Each time I’ve played the character and put the muscle on and put the size on, and then lost it for something else,” said Hemsworth. However, the process has become exhausting for the action star. Earlier, Hemsworth gave his fans a look at his new approach.

The bodybuilding and fitness enthusiast uploaded a video of his latest workout session on Instagram. In the video, Hemsworth showed clips of various exercises he did during the workout. However, one thing was similar with every movement. It was the lack of conventional bodybuilding exercises with heavy weights. Instead, the Extraction star did functional training.
The video started with the Australian sprinting with his training partner. Explosive compound movements with different-sized medicine balls followed. He swung battle ropes, did elevated bodyweight pushups, and bear crawled forwards and backward. Hemsworth trained his core, including the obliques, with the medicine ball movements.

“Doing a lot less heavy-weight sessions lately and incorporating sprint work and more functional movements,” the actor wrote in the caption. He mentioned that the workout he has not done is the typical bodybuilding split that trains different body parts on specific days. Instead, Hemsworth has opted for “a solid full body workout routine. Feeling good.” However, this isn’t the only measure Hemsworth is taking to age gracefully.
