Derek Lunsford discussed his journey from a self-centered person to recognizing a higher purpose in life, through faith in God. He was so depressed at times he thought of quitting bodybuilding. I’ve always been a God-fearing man and, like at the time, my relationship with God wasn’t as strong as it is today, but I finally just literally gave up. I threw in the towel and I said God that’s it man I don’t want to be here anymore but if I’m going to be here, show me the way,” quoted Lunsford.

Everything happens for a reason, says Lunsford

He said in his Instagram post and emphasized to believe in god’s plan, “If we don’t get what we want. It’s not because god doesn’t want to bless us it’s because he’s protecting us from something that we can’t see.” This perspective shows his gratitude towards life, which is loaded with a passion for bodybuilding.
