An Ailing Ronnie Coleman Opened Up on the Alarming Rate of Bodybuilders’ Death, a Year Before Joesthetics Passed Away

This year saw a spike in the number of bodybuilders dying. While the reasons may vary, one aspect gathered much concern from the community, steroids. The month of June was a rather unfortunate one. Popular fitness influencer, Jo Linder aka Joesthetics passed away and left the bodybuilding world shaken. 

However, before the dark fate dawned upon the community, IFBB icon Ronnie Coleman once warned about the rising fatalities of bodybuilders. He appeared on the Bradley Martyn podcast in 2022 to discuss the effects of diuretics. Moreover, he noted the actions taken during his time.

 Sitting on the podcast, Coleman was once asked about his thoughts on the rising deaths of bodybuilders, given a few athletes had passed away and even the pro athletes were at risk back in 2022. Thus, the King explained that while the deaths were unfortunate, athletes employ different strategies to make things work.

Recalling his time, Coleman shared that the death of one bodybuilder, Mohammed Benaziza, due to diuretics,  shook the sphere. The next thing they knew, the authorities began “drug-testing” each and every show until the athletes stopped using those substances. Coleman claimed the late bodybuilder unfortunately passed away while he was on the European Tour.

Quite ironically, Joesthetics had appeared on the same podcast days before his demise. He had expressed his worry about the underlying risks of bodybuilding and explained his health as his topmost priority. While there was no confirmation of steroids being involved in Linder’s demise, some people speculated that it could have influenced it to some extent

Jo Linder passed away in a fateful incident

The sudden death of Joesthetics shocked the bodybuilding and fitness sphere to the core. The tragic incident was an eye-opener to many. Notably, Linder suffered from a health condition, the Rippling disease that might have contributed to his demise. However, the fitness sensation had been quite cautious with his health, owing to his condition.

As per reports, Linder died due to an aneurysm while he was spending time with his girlfriend Nicha. She later revealed that Jo had complained of neck pain only a few days before, but both of them had decided to not address it seriously.

The King’s wisdom could have been a boon for the lives of bodybuilders like Joesthetics. Despite following a health and fitness-focused lifestyle, he passed away due to unforeseen circumstances. Whereas, Coleman had urged the community to stay wary of the prohibited substances.
