In a simple yet powerful Instagram story post, Katherine reacted to Wahlberg’s openness by sharing an image with a caption: “Ash Wed” from the Today Show where the actor discussed his perspective on faith. Wahlberg, known for his roles in movies like “The Fighter” and “Ted,” spoke openly about his Catholic faith, emphasizing that while he doesn’t want to push it on anyone, he also cannot deny its importance in his life.
Wahlberg’s sincerity extends beyond just words. “It’s a balance,” Wahlberg said in the video. “I don’t want to jam it down anybody’s throat, but I do not deny my faith. That’s an even bigger sin.” He proudly wears an ash cross on his forehead on Ash Wednesday, signaling the start of Lent, a practice observed by many Catholics around the world.
