Alex de Souza Luz, popularly known as Alex Luz Lékão, is not your average bodybuilder. At 26, he’s defying all odds with his inspiring journey from a diagnosis of cerebral palsy at age 2 to becoming a prominent figure in bodybuilding. Despite being told that bodybuilding wasn’t for him, Luz’s determination propelled him.

Recently, Generation Iron posted a video of Luz on their Instagram page, that caught everyone off guard. This viral video praises Lékão’s remarkable performance at a bodybuilding show. In the clip, he mesmerized the audience with his individual posing routine, earning cheers and admiration from fans.

Generation Iron captioned the post, “Shout out to @lekaobodybuilder he doesn’t let cerebral paralysis hold him back. True bodybuilder.” Let’s unravel his journey in bodybuilding. Born in Bahia, Brazil, Lékão entered the world facing adversity. Complications during birth deprived him of oxygen, casting him into a battle for survival. His early days were spent in the ICU. But Lékão’s story is not one of surrender to fate.

Later on, at 19, Lékão’s path intersected with that of bodybuilding, a passion ignited by the spark of inspiration from his younger brother. With determination burning in his veins, he embarked on a journey that would redefine the boundaries of possibility. Fuelled by ambition, Lékão shared his journey with the world through the lens of social media.

His workout videos captured everyone’s attention and soon he garnered a fanbase of over 800k followers on Instagram. Yet, the road to greatness was not without its share of obstacles. The pandemic cast a shadow over the world and competitions were cancelled. However, Lékão refused to yield to despair. In 2021, he stepped onto the bodybuilding stage for the first time. Lékão once shared his ultimate goal is to compete on the prestigious Mr. Olympia stage.  After witnessing his unwavering dedication, fans were baffled with excitement.

Many individuals acknowledged his hard work and commitment to bodybuilding. “Better than many of us,” said one fan.
