76-year-old fitness icon?Arnold Schwarzenegger?started his daily fitness newsletter to help people. The?bodybuilding?legend wanted to help people find time for fitness despite their busy work schedules. Hence, Arnie has focused on giving bite-sized yet effective advice since starting Arnold’s Pump Club in January. While he often provides short workout challenges, his latest advice might be the least time-consuming one yet.

In the latest issue of Arnold’s Pump Club, the 76-year-old former champion bodybuilder offered his?“village”?members a three-minute solution for cancer prevention. As one of the deadliest diseases known to mankind, experts often suggest various lifestyle changes to lower cancer risk. Schwarzenegger’s advice might be the easiest to implement.

Arnold Schwarzenegger highlights a crucial study

The 76-year-old wrote that recent research suggests?“short bursts of daily activity could be a valuable habit.”?The seven-time Mr. Olympia informed his readers that research found such activity can prevent “13 different types of cancer.” The study Arnie highlighted wasn’t a small one and involved 22,000 participants.

The UK Biobank Accelerometry Study looked at the effects of short bursts of activity on adults who didn’t workout. Researchers found that as little as three minutes of activity was good enough for a 30 percent reduction in cancer risk.?“Think sprinting up stairs or rushing around the home,”?wrote the five-time Mr. Universe.

Arnie wrote in his newsletter that the short bursts of activity?“had nothing to do with traditional exercise or workouts. This was just a matter of getting your heart rate up in day-to-day scenarios.”?Hence, the three-minute solution would be perfect for those who have yet to find enough time for dedicated exercise sessions. However, this isn’t the first time Schwarzenegger wrote about preventing cancer.

A habit that increases the risk of cancer

In one of the latest issues, Arnie offered a solution for those looking to make effective lifestyle changes. However, in a past issue of his newsletter,?Arnie warned his readers about a habit?that increases cancer risk. Schwarzenegger said people sleeping less than six hours were at risk?“from cardiovascular disease and obesity to an increased risk of cancer and immune dysfunction.”

He also highlighted another alarming statistic related to sleep deprivation. According to the bodybuilding legend,?“one-third of Americans are in sleep debt every night.”?The seven-time Mr. Olympia said these people think sleeping more on the weekends would help them recover. However, the reality is different. Adults regularly need seven to nine hours of sleep.
