After Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the most prominent figures in the bodybuilding world, increased the prize pool for the Arnold Classic, the IFBB was given an indirect challenge to follow suit. Now the IFBB has done what was expected of it and increased the prize pool for the Classic Physique division.

IFBB Vice President Tyler Manion recently shared a video on his official Instagram, sharing the news of the jump in prize money with the bodybuilding community. The decision, however, comes on the back of a new sponsor. Let us see who they are.

The IFBB ropes in New Tech as sponsor for the division

Manion revealed that “New Tech” will be the official sponsor for the Classic Physique division for the rest of 2024. The VP announced a raise of 210,000 dollars to the prize pool for the division, adding a much-needed boost to those looking to compete.

The sponsor, New Tech, is a Korean brand that supplies gym equipment. Manion had much to say about New Tech. “Trust me, I know because the NPC Gym is full of new tech equipment, and I love training on it every day.” Even Pro athletes like the current Mr. Olympia Champion Derek Lunsford and Regan Grimes use New Tech’s equipment in their gyms.

As expected, many pro bodybuilders and fans were excited to hear the news and displayed their excitement in the comment section.

Fans want to know what Chris Bumstead would think 

The current Arnold Champion Wesley Vissers seemed positive about the decision and commented, “That’s amazing to hear.” Even Mr. Olympia winner Derek Lunsford commented on the post and wrote, “Raising the bar!” Two-time Classic Physique Olympia winner Breon Ansley praised the decision and commented, “Power move for @newtech_wellness 🥇 appreciate it guys!”

On the other hand, one fan had some thoughts on what they thought the decision would mean for CBum. “Bumstead definitely not leaving now lol,” they wrote. Another fan indicated how the news meant that bodybuilding was booming and wrote, “Industry is growing.” A follower called for similar decisions and commented, “More steps in the right direction.”

One fitness enthusiast was majorly in favor of the decision and wrote, “Great direction. They continued, “Imagine each class having three to four sponsors like that. All chipping towards the prizes.”
