People magazine caught up with Mark Wahlberg ahead of the upcoming Wahlberg Week. The Wahlberg Week is a special event that the actor organizes and participates in for his company, F45. The week-long event lets members of the F45 brand work out with the Hollywood icon. Wahlberg personally trains clients for an entire week. Wahlberg Week is so popular it helped the actor save his dying brand.

While speaking to People Magazine about the upcoming event, the Chief Brand Officer of F45 revealed how his approach toward fitness has changed. While “strength training” remains a priority for the Ted star, made a surprising confession. Despite being a lifelong fitness enthusiast, Marky Mark told People, “Cardio days are tough for me.” However, the actor’s focus in the gym has shifted.

At 52, the Unchartered actor’s goal is longevity. Hence, Mark Wahlberg’s workout has evolved to include more functional movements in the gym. Instead of focusing on traditional compound movement, Wahlberg trains his body with a focus on preserving muscle, joint, and ligament health. “Before it was about aesthetic… Now, I want to live a long time,” he said. The actor also spilled the beans on his 4 a.m. routine.

The 52-year-old actor has earned the name CEO of the 4 a.m. Club. Marky Mark regularly wakes up before dawn and starts his workout at 4 a.m. He also regularly posts snippets of his 4 a.m. session online, urging fans to wake up early and work out at 4 a.m. During the interview with People, the co-owner of F45 revealed why he hits the gym so early in the morning.

“I feel better getting up early,” Wahlberg told People. He also revealed the early morning workout was born out of necessity. Despite being a fitness enthusiast, the actor has a busy schedule. “I feel better getting up early,” the 52-year-old said.

While Mark Wahlberg’s fitness routine might seem extreme from the videos, the actor does things according to plan. Marky Mark has adapted his fitness routine to adjust to his busy schedule to focus on longevity.
