If you love drinking smoothies, you might be in luck. The seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger is here to share the ingredients you can add to your smoothie to attain optimal benefits from it. On the anniversary of his newsletter Arnold’s Pump Club, Arnie unveiled an ingredient that helps you maintain your weight.

In the latest edition of his newsletter, Arnie highlighted that sometimes affordable ingredients can give you optimal results. He advised adding psyllium husk to your smoothies. Psyllium husk is “a soluble fiber that supports your gut health—it can support weight loss and maintenance, cardiovascular health, lower cholesterol, fight against diabetes, and reduce appetite,” explained the Austrian Oak.

Like other fitness-related products, psyllium is not that expensive, and its availability is not a problem as well. If you take psyllium with water, it does a magical job and binds all the undigested food and flushes them out. Arnie highlighted, “It’s best known as the active ingredient in Metamucil, but most people don’t realize that psyllium — and fiber in general — does much more than just keep you regular.”

According to Arnie, Psyllium is found to be effective in reducing cholesterol and LDL-C and using it in your daily diet helps you regulate glucose. Psyllium also has a huge impact on your appetite as it clears debris from your stomach and makes you feel fuller, satisfying you for a longer time.

According to a study published by The Lancet, people who consume fiber-rich carbs have a much lower chance of getting diabetes and they also have a 30 percent lesser possibility of getting heart. That’s why we add a tablespoon of psyllium for the extra fiber boost to our protein powder of choice,” Arnie advised. Schwarzenegger suggested taking 5 to 15 grams of psyllium each day to witness the benefits of it.

This is not the only thing the Terminator did for the Pump Club’s anniversary. He also made the day of a few “villagers”.

Arnie spends the whole day with his villagers

The Terminator arranged a meetup with his “villagers” (the members of his club) and went on a walk with them in Santa Monica. They walked down the beach, as one can see in the video posted on the bodybuilding legend’s Instagram. All of the villagers hung out together and ate protein waffles together.

Arnie captioned the video, “The Pump village is real! It was fantastic to get my steps in with members of the app on Friday.” They did a bunch of activities together and even went to see props from the Austrian Oak’s movies. The Terminator summarized the whole day and wrote, “I LOVED it. Everyone connected in real life with people they’d only seen in The Pump app.”
