Days After His ‘Hamstring Injury’, Nick Walker’s Recovery Has Been a Slow and Arduous Procedure: “I Can’t Do Bike… I Can’t Do Stairs”

Nick Walker, a prominent figure in bodybuilding, had to exit from the 2023 Mr. Olympia, because of an acute injury. This bruise occurred just a few days prior to the event. He made every possible effort to deal with the severity of the injury and heal before the contest, but, unfortunately, he couldn’t recover in time to take part in the event, which devastated him.

Walker recently shared an update with his fans about the injury and the steps he’s taking to get better physically and mentally. In a video on YouTube, he talked about the time leading to the incident and the efforts he made to recover before the event. Eventually, he announced that he wouldn’t be taking part in participating this year through Mr. Olympia’s official Instagram Page.

Besides the Mutant is dealing with emotional and mental distress, and he is struggling to walk properly. However, while talking about his routine, he mentioned his injury and shed light on a partial tear in his hamstring and a knot in his other calf. This has made it hard for him to flex his legs.

In this latest video, he began discussing his daily routine. Walker is unable to perform any intense workout session, but he has been doing cardio sessions.” We’re still pushing uh we’re still doing what needs to be done cardio uh like I said i’ I’m able to function on the elliptical.”

He further added to his statement, “I’m still able to push pretty hard on that I can’t really do the bike um just because of the bending motion it’s too much. I can’t do stairs um even though it’s not really a bending motion it’s just still too much pressure. I go on one leg um treadmill obviously walking is just not happening um but else is fine.” Since his injury, doctors recommended he use a wheelchair till recovers fully. It has been a roller coaster for him, and despite putting all his effort into building muscle, still not be able to perform.

He also mentioned his emotional status with fans and followers, “you know so mentally it’s uh it’s been draining it’s been a little emotional.” talked about his physical growth he was so confident that he might win the show and become the new champion in Open Divison, “Arnold conditioning and Olympia fullness.”

The plan was certain but unfortunately, it didn’t happen. During this video, the 29-year-old also said that throughout the ordeal his girlfriend played a crucial role in keeping his spirits up.“Um you know and honestly if Maria wasn’t here I probably wouldn’t have come I’ll be honest but she has a way of keeping things positive and it’s helped me a lot,” said the American bodybuilder.

Recently, rumors have been flying about his break up with his girlfriend but he’s since busted that rumor and referred to Maria Carvajal as his wife. He has also asked fans not to react to negativity and credited Carvajal for being the support system he’s always needed.
