Eating several times a day ruined his joy of eating: Jay Cutler

Two years ago, at the age of 48, Cutler had revealed how he was not a big fan of certain food items, like steak, which is generally considered essential in a bodybuilder’s diet. In the video, he further stated that his food choices at the time leaned towards sushi, although in a limited amount owing to the sugar content in the rice.

He further went on to explain his feelings about food and said, “I’ll tell you the most disappointing part about what I did for a living. I don’t enjoy food to this day.” Cutler’s disciplined approach to nutrition during his competitive years was commendable. Sadly, he confessed that “The idea of eating seven times a day would rob you of the joy of eating.”

He disclosed that he consumed a staggering 1000 grams of carbs and three to four thousand grams of protein daily while training for competitions. For many people, this routine may sound a bit baffling and undoable, but for Cutler, it was the way to gain muscles. And he did it pretty well. The world has seen his behemoth physique, and even in his 50s, he continues to maintain this.
