What started as a “nagging cough” and fever soon became a nightmare for the Peterson family and their four-year-old daughter. Bodybuilding veteran Gunnar Peterson recently shared the heartbreaking news of his daughter, Monroe Vivian Peterson, getting diagnosed with leukemia. The terrible illness gave no warning before invading the little girl’s life. After hearing the news, Dwayne Johnson, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and thousands more have reached out to the family.

After Monroe Vivian Peterson, whose parents lovingly call her MVP got the fever, they thought it was “Typical Kids stuff.” However, things escalated after the four-year-old’s mother noticed bruising on her leg. Since the child hadn’t been very active due to the fever, they took her to the hospital. There, the celebrity bodybuilding coach had to wait for an agonizing four days to learn of her illness.

Things kept getting worse for MVP according to her father. First, her platelets dropped, then her white blood cell count. Hemoglobin and hematocrit also took a nosedive. She even needed blood transfusions. A plethora of tests followed her deteriorating condition, and now, MVP is undergoing chemotherapy. MVP is now a Make-A-Wish candidate.

According to the bodybuilding coach, his daughter is suffering from AML Leukemia. Acute myeloid leukemia, or AML, starts in the blood cells of the bone marrow. Just like in MVP’s case, the illness progresses rapidly and interrupts the body’s natural production of platelets and white and red blood cells.

While the terrible events have devastated the bodybuilding transformation specialist and his family, they haven’t lost faith. “Our Warrior Princess will crush this! She has even said it herself!” wrote Peterson in his post. Monroe Vivian Peterson isn’t alone in her battle against AML. In fact thousands, including some of Hollywood’s biggest names, are behind her and her family.

“My family and I are praying for your baby G. We love you all so very much and lifting her up in the name of Jesus…” commented the 68-year-old. “Prayers up. Let’s go warrior princess you can do it! Sending lots of love & healing energy,” said fellow bodybuilding and fitness coach Jeanette Jenkins. “Sending all my love and healing energy,” wrote trainer Simone De La Rue.
