81-YO ‘God of Aesthetics’ Reveals His Ultimate Training Split to Get the Most Gains

Frank Zane is hailed as the ‘God of Aesthetics’ in bodybuilding. From being a mathematics teacher to a bodybuilding icon, Zane’s journey is a tale of dedication and precise strategy. Even at the age of 81, Zane continues to defy age with his relentless dedication to the gym. He unveiled his ultimate training split for maximum gains in an exclusive interview on EssentiallySports FanCast.

When asked by host, Vishal Kolar if he still adheres to the same training split, Zane shared his routine, saying, “Pretty much, I do a three-way split, sometimes it’s a two-way split like upper body one day and legs another.” Despite his illustrious career, Zane continues to adapt his routine to suit his needs.

Frank Zane further revealed during the EssentiallySports Exclusive Interview that his training partner these days is none other than his wife. “I train a lot with my wife now,” he exclaimed. The man who defeated Arnold Schwarzenegger, was all praise for his wife as well. “She’s very disciplined, so it’s really good for me to train with her.” He also confessed that earlier he used to train with other gym partners, but now he does not as his wife brought more discipline into his regime. This partnership adds a personal touch to his workouts and reflects Zane’s commitment to staying active and fit alongside his beloved wife, Christine Zane.

Delving further into his training preferences, Kolar inquired about any particular favorite body parts or movements. Zane’s response was characteristic of his balanced approach, stating, “No, not really. Everything’s on an even basis.” This response highlights his holistic approach to fitness even now, where every aspect of training is valued equally to maintain his aesthetic physique.

Surprisingly, it’s not just the gyms that Zane frequents for physical activity. “I practice archery, I mean pretty good Archer I have a range on my property here and I shoot several times a week,” he disclosed his love for archery. On the other hand, on top of working out regularly, Zane is also quite particular about his supplement intake for longevity.

The three-time Mr. Olympia shared his unique approach to bodybuilding, emphasizing a preference for amino acids. “The main thing I’ve always taken is Amino Acids in free form,” said the Chemist. During the exclusive interview with EssentiallySports, Zane further revealed what kind of amino acids he took. “I was taking what is called Super Sports put out by Montiff,” he said, explaining that the supplement contained 16 free-form amino acids. The conversation did not stop there, Kolar had a question on the ster**d culture in modern bodybuilding as well.
