He was a student of Criminal Justice and wanted to become a police officer. Like any other family, they also pressured him to choose a path that inclines with family. However, one of his friends indulged him in fitness and bodybuilding. As he grew, his passion for bodybuilding has also increased. The 4x Time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler shared his astounding path to bodybuilding.

Cutler has been very open about his life. He shared several times that his introduction to bodybuilding happened because of a magazine and he saw Chris Dickerson holding a trophy that really impressed him.

Jay Cutler declined family business to become a bodybuilder!

A Throwback video of a bodybuilding beast gained attention, where he revealed his life journey in conversation with The Iced Coffee Hour. He said that he was 12 years old when he first encountered a bodybuilding magazine. Afterward, one of his friends took him to the Gold’s gym for exercise, since then his inclination got deeper.

However, his family had other plans for him. They wanted him to join the family business after his graduation. His brothers also joined the family business, but Cutler wanted to do something different. “Was at that Turning Point 18 like we reached that, that point it’s like the family’s trying to drag it to the business like that was a family business,” said the 50-year-old.

Cutler developed a grown body in high school

Further training with weights, he committed “that when I graduated high school, I graduated 91 I was going to join the gym and start my journey towards lifting weights and developing a better body.” While working in the family business of concrete, he kind of developed a body during high school. Cutler found solace in the gym during the late hours of the night. From 8 to 10 p.m., he would immerse himself in intense training sessions, channeling his energy and focus into lifting weights.

He was not sure he would pursue this as a career but he surely liked it as a hobby, He further said that he would never thought of participating in the competitions, and when he started he weighed 50 pounds in the first year of training and next, he found him on the bodybuilding stage.
