However, during shooting for his latest project, Arnold’s dad-type behavior unintentionally caused a funny stir among his co-star, his 43-years-younger colleague, Monica Barbaro. Arnold Schwarzenegger took care of her co-star’s pet dog
The two popular actors recently appeared for an exclusive interview on the Extra TV YouTube channel. In the interview, The Terminator said that Monica used to bring her pet dog ‘Augie’, to the movie set during the shoot. The bodybuilding superstar revealed that while Barbaro was fully engrossed in her scenes, Schwarzenegger, with his natural paternal instincts, took it upon himself to care for her beloved pet and made sure that Augie was well-fed. He started feeding her dog, meat from a freshly prepared wiener schnitzel that he made for himself.
“This dog doesn’t get any food from her because all she is thinking about on the set, was my scene, my next scene. I have to be good with my scene, and the dog is sitting and doesn’t get any food for 12 hours,” he jokingly said. As a result, the dog grew increasingly fond of Schwarzenegger, spending more time with him than its owner.
According to Schwarzenegger, this unexpected turn of events left Barbaro feeling a tinge of jealousy towards her co-star’s bond with her beloved pet. “She gets jealous that why is he spending more time with you than with me, and I said because I take care of the dog,” the Governator added. However, in her defense, the actress said that she used to feed her pet, and it was Arnold’s extra love that made Augie gain ten pounds during the shoot. However, this is not the first time when the bodybuilding legend’s love for animals came to notice.
Arnold’s revelation of his newest pet
The 7x Mr. Olympia champion has been vocal about his love and affection for animals. He has adopted four dogs, a miniature horse, and a donkey. However, the legend recently added another new member to his family. Schwarzenegger once took to Instagram and posted a picture of his newest family member, a mini pig, sitting on his lap along with his dog.
“The family is growing. Meet Schnelly,” he wrote in the caption revealing the name. Schwarzenegger has consistently used his platform to create awareness about animal welfare. Schwarzenegger’s genuine care for Monica Barbaro’s pet dog shows his incredible dad/parent behavior.
