75-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger overcame some serious challenges

Before asking Arnie about FUBAR, Tracy Smith said Schwarzenegger is an action hero at the “age when most people retire.” After showing a brief clip of Arnold beating up a bad guy in FUBAR, Smith asked, “You’re doing your first TV role ever in FUBAR. Why now?”

Besides liking the fact that the script took inspiration from True Lies, Schwarzenegger wanted to explore new horizons. While he might be 75, the seven-time Mr. Olympia doesn’t shy away from challenges. “It was a lot of work. I’ve never really worked that hard in my life,”?confessed Arnie, as per CBS News. His confession startled the reporter, who couldn’t believe what the action star said.

Many might think working on action films like True Lies, The Terminator, and Predator franchises might involve more challenges. However, filming a show presented new challenges for the actor.?“Television is just so much faster. You do like, you know, 10-12 pages, sometimes in a day,”?explained Schwarzenegger. Back in February, the bodybuilding icon explained just how hard things got.

About a month before FUBAR’s release, Arnold Schwarzenegger gave his newsletter subscribers a sneak peek into his show. In one edition of his newsletter, the 75-year-old recounted his routine during filming. “It was 4 months of 12-14 hour days and nights,”?the former Mr. Olympia wrote. Sometimes the filming extended past midnight.

Since the actor is no longer a young man, he made sure to maintain his fitness while filming FUBAR. Schwarzenegger worked out regularly, followed a nutritious diet, and made sure to get enough sleep. While it was a grueling schedule, the former Mr. Universe loved working on the show.
