However, Aquaman star, Jason Momoa, breaks the mold with his refreshing honesty about his disinterest in weightlifting and bodybuilding. 

Despite his enormous build and impressive physicality, Momoa openly admits that his motivation for working out primarily stems from his professional obligations.

In various interviews and videos shared on ‘tomigains’ YouTube channel, Momoa has expressed his true sentiments towards weightlifting. Momoa has been the talk of the town lately because of his latest release, Fast X. Jason Momoa’s physique as a bad guy, Dante Reyes, in Fast X, is being criticized for not being as shredded as he was in Aquaman. Seeing the reactions, he has stated that he doesn’t particularly enjoy spending hours in the gym, but he understands its necessity for certain roles. These candid confessions have gained tremendous respect from fans for his unapologetic approach to fitness.

As the comments section of a video was flooded with appreciation, it became clear that his unapologetic honesty resonates deeply with admirers who value authenticity and individual “Real talk, I kinda get him though,” a fan wrote.

Fans expressed their admiration and support for his honesty. Many commended him for his willingness to be genuine about his feelings towards weightlifting and bodybuilding. A fan wrote, “Love that he’s honest as hell. He only does it if he’s paid to. And he’s paid damn well.” However, another fan highlighted that it is not a rule for actors to like bodybuilding, and they limit it to their professional needs only. “Can we at least acknowledge he’s honest, the fact that he’s massive doesn’t mean he has to be a gym bro, he does what he has to do for those fat paychecks.”

The king of Atlantis defied this norm by openly admitting that weightlifting and bodybuilding are not his passions and said, “I don’t touch a weight unless they’re paying me to do it. I don’t enjoy lifting. That’s just genetically Hawaiian.” Some fans also supported his opinions as one wrote, “I mean he ain’t wrong about Hawaiian genetics”. Another fan wrote, “He has all the right in the world to not like lifting, and so does anyone else”.
