Use protein powders as supplements and not the main source: Jay Cutler

CutlerNutrition posted a video to their Instagram page, where Cutler candidly emphasizes the importance of viewing protein powder as a supplement rather than a sole source of nutrition. He advocates for a balanced diet that includes a variety of protein-rich foods such as chicken, steak, eggs, fish, and turkey. According to him, these whole foods not only provide essential nutrients but also contribute to a satisfying and fulfilling meal experience.

In the video, he stresses, “I would always suggest an isolate such as total iso, but I feel like you have to have a meal schedule.” His approach involves consuming meals every two hours, amounting to six, seven, or even eight meals a day. The frequency may vary for individuals, but the underlying principle remains – consistency is key.

Though the bodybuilding beast never truly enjoyed eating food, he used to have 6-7 meals per day to sculpt his body, staying consistent with his diet. Starting the day with eggs sets the tone for a protein-packed routine. Cutler then incorporated other protein sources like chicken and beef throughout the day, ensuring a steady supply of amino acids to support muscle growth. Carbohydrates also played a role, complementing the protein intake to create a well-rounded nutritional plan. And that’s not all! Do you know about the weird combinations he used to reach his protein goals?

Cutler’s mantra was to eat for fuel and not for taste!

In an old clip, the 50-year-old’s commitment shone through as he included glutamine in every meal. Cutler spilled the beans, saying, “I even mix my protein powders with diet Mountain Dew sometimes, which sounds a little crazy, but sometimes you don’t eat for taste.” He confessed that he had a simple approach to eating – he ate for fuel, not for how it tasted. His main goal was to get big and stay big, so the flavor didn’t matter much to him.
