“He Normally Doesn’t Do That”: Arnold Schwarzenegger Freaks Out Over His 50 Pounds Pet Pig’s Bizarre Behavior

76 YO bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger has sure earned a great name for himself by becoming a face bigger than the sport itself. From being an Emmy-winning actor to being the governor of California, he’s truly done it all. And despite his rough and tough, larger-than-life action star image, the Austrian Oak is known to be a big softie, with a heart that beats of innocent animals.

He has pets of various species, ranging from dogs to donkeys to a miniature horse.  But what has tickled the Terminator actor’s fancy is a pig who is called Schnelly Schwarzenegger, the latest addition to his stable. In his interviews, he often talks about Schnelly and well, recently he unveiled a trait that freaks him out.

Schnelly’s Schwarzenegger’s weird behavior

In his latest interview with Elex Michaelson, Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked about how things were going around the house with so many different types of pets around. And then he was asked about Schnelly and Arnie highlighted an interesting fact about her. The actor talked fondly about her and seemed fascinated by a particular aspect of her personality.

Schnelly, as Arnold Schwarzenegger stated is great at manipulation and would do absolutely anything to get food and attention. At times, she even goes beyond the behavior of pigs and leaves the Schwarzenegger family amused with the stunt that he pulls off. He does the same when he sees something on Arnie’s lap.

The Austrian Oak says, “Yesterday I had a plate on my lap and he just came around, he looked at me like this, sniffed a little bit then all of a sudden jumped on my lap like a dog right, he normally doesn’t do that. Pigs don’t do that.” Despite all the love that he has for Schnelly, sometimes having a pet pig becomes too overwhelming for him.

Arnold’s troubles with having a pet pig

Seeing George Clooney with his pet pig Max in 1997 on the sets of Batman and Robin inspired Arnold Schwarzenegger to get a pig for himself too. After a few days, he got himself a baby hog, but because of the mischievous acts of his children, he had to send it back to the farm. His kids kept on feeding him so much that he got way too fat.

During his interview with Ryan Holiday, Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke about how pigs have an exceptionally huge appetite. He said, “The pig just wants to eat, so I just you know…they dig and all that stuff, so you just have to kind of put them into an area where there is no food so that you can protect the body weight a little bit. I don’t wanna have a pig that is too fat, you know. I just want to keep it like around 50 lbs.” 

This is true. Pigs do pig out, hence the term. But it would appear the actor likes his pigs to be in shape as well!
