Dorian Yates challenged himself to follow his passion

The British bodybuilder shared a snippet of an interview on his Instagram account, where he described his incredible journey. In his early years, Yates faced challenges and made a conscious decision to channel his energy into bodybuilding. “My passion was how far can I take this, how far can I push this how muscular can get and it was like a mission that was a passion of mine,” stated Yates.

He recounts how he had to leave behind a life of partying and focus on working various jobs while dedicating himself to the sport. His commitment was unwavering, driven by a promise to himself that something positive would come from bodybuilding. This mindset steered him away from a troubled past.

When it came to his interests, he said he only focused on bodybuilding, and if something interested him he would give it all to explore. However, schools and education didn’t captivate him for the long term. Once he “learnt to read, write and do basic maths, what was I taught that I have ever used in life? Nothing really.” Soon he realized that fundamental education wouldn’t help him achieve his passion, so he turned his focus to bodybuilding. He began training and started educating himself with the available resources. Bodybuilding became a guide, providing him with a sense of purpose and direction.
