Bruce Lee’s influence on Mike O’Hearn

Mike O’Hearn recently took to his official Instagram handle ‘powerbodybuilding’ and shared a video of himself revealing his constant source of inspiration. He captioned the video, “How Bruce Lee inspired me in the creation of Power Bodybuilding.” He begins the video with how push and pull have always worked for him as a bodybuilder and gave him his foundation.

He says, “When it comes to the power of bodybuilding, I took that inspiration from Bruce Lee. He took everything from somebody.” He is a believer in the method that the martial artist applied to enhance the conditioning and strength of his body. Mike O’Hearn says, “If I can make my bones extremely strong, and if I can make my connect tissue really strong, then that’s next to being superhuman.”

He goes on to explain how, when boxers train, they put their entire strength training into their hands. That is the reason why if a normal athlete punches a wall, it hurts them badly, but when a boxer does the same thing, he can bear the pain. The Titan adds, “I’ll create the body so frickin strong, that the average doesn’t hurt it and the muscle will come from the side effect of just lifting.” Bruce Lee’s method indeed turned out to be of great help, and hence, O’Hearn still manages to reign over the fitness world.
