The most anticipated documentary, Breaking Olympia: The Phil Heath Story, is officially released. The seven-time Mr. Olympia shared this news on his official Instagram account, sharing a montage of the documentary talking about the hardships he faced on his journey to be the finest in the sport.

In the documentary, Heath shared about the downfalls he faced while preparing for Mr. Olympia and the surgery he had to go through after the competition. He shared his iconic beef with Kai Greene and his most anticipated comeback to the sport.

Heath’s real father, Donald Heath, passed away in March 2014, which left a void in the seven-time Mr. Olympia’s heart that was never filled. Even to this date, he still misses his father and often has dreams about him. The 44-year-old former bodybuilder shared an emotional moment with his father, which still makes him emotional. He went to his father just six weeks before his Olympia, and he won that show.

He did not only struggle with his father’s death, leaving a void. Heath won his 2017 Mr. Olympia by dealing with two hernias. During his training, he heard a sound, and he thought this could be the end of his career. The Gift was dethroned by Shawn Rhoden in the 2018 Mr. Olympia, and after that, the seven-time Mr. Olympia felt like giving up and said,” I wanted to k*ll myself.” But Heath didn’t give up and thought of coming back to the sport.

From there started the story of the former bodybuilder’s comeback. He made his comeback to sports after a few years in 2020. In the 2020 Mr. Olympia, the Gift secured third place even after not competing for years, which turned everyone’s head. 

The seven-time Mr. Olympia Champion shares that he can still hear those whispers and shares the mental health issues he faced throughout his path to success.

The Gift shared why he decided to suppress his pain like a soldier, which made his inner battle more difficult. He shared that he realized that he “had the opportunity to be the best in the world, so he suppressed his problems and focused on competing to become the best in the bodybuilding realm.

Despite all the setbacks the 44-year-old former bodybuilder faced, he never gave up. That’s what makes him one of the greatest bodybuilders in bodybuilding history.
