“Kicked My A**”: Despite on Stage Rivalry With Ronnie Coleman and Phil Heath, Jay Cutler Admits Female IFBB Pro Was His Biggest Opponent

Every bodybuilding enthusiast of the early 2000s knows how thrilling the rivalry was between Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler. It was one for the books. Cutler has also competed against the 7x Mr. Olympia Phil Heath. However, despite the efforts it took Cutler to defeat these maestros, the 4x Mr. Olympia doesn’t consider them his biggest rival. Instead, Mr. Fourth Quarter considers a female IFBB bodybuilder as his biggest rival.

Recently, Jay Cutler and his Manager were joined by a one-of-a-kind bodybuilder on the latest episode of their podcast. Herein, Cutler recalled the time when he was defeated by the first-ever Women’s Physique pro, Dana Lin Bailey.

On 12th May 2023, the official YouTube channel of the podcast Cutler Cast posted its 75th episode. The guest star in this episode was the first-ever female Olympia, Dana Lin Bailey. The trio started the podcast on a hilarious note by remembering the days when Bailey used to tease Cutler in the gym. Cutler then revealed that Bailey’s training capacity was unmatched.

Recollecting an incident from the past, Cutler said, “Dana kicked my a*s. Yeah like when…July last year yeah she just didn’t want to stop so I trained without everyone. I trained with Phil and Ronnie and I have to say that Dana trains pretty hard still these days.” To this Bailey added, “I kept being like hey do you want to do something else you’re like no I’m good I’m like we only did three sets you’re like yep that’s it.”

Whether it comes to naming his biggest opponent or his biggest inspiration, Cutler’s choices have always been out of the box. Even when it came to choosing who inspired him to join the bodybuilding world, people’s favorite Austrian Oak wasn’t Cutler’s choice.

During an episode of the Straight Outta The Lair podcast, Cutler revealed Sylvester Stallone was his biggest inspiration. He added that he was around 12 years old when he first saw the movies of the Rocky film franchise. It was then that Sylvester Stallone became the hero for young Cutler.

Furthermore, Cutler confessed that he hadn’t watched Schwarzenegger‘s infamous bodybuilding docudrama The Pumping Iron until he became a professional bodybuilder. Therefore, it wasn’t Arnie’s Greek-god physique but the beast Stallone who introduced the world of fitness and training to Cutler.

Years after quitting the competitive stage, Cutler now maintains a friendly relationship with all his former rivals. Whether it is Coleman or Bailey, all of them are now workout buddies who continue to push each other to stay in their best form.
