Powerlifter-turned-Classic Physique competitor Larry Wheels is known for lifting insanely heavy weights in the gym. While he wasn’t lifting too heavy during his competition prep in 2023, Wheels is back to lifting heavy during the offseason. However, the bodybuilder often lifts so heavy that even experienced lifters struggle to keep up with the 29-year-old.

Numerous people have gotten injured while training with Larry Wheels. From prominent influencers like Noel Deyzel and the late Joe Lindner or less famous guests trying to attempt PRs. In fact, so many have suffered injuries that even the 29-year-old himself has a video called The Curse of Larry Wheels on his YouTube channel. Earlier, the curse nearly struck again.

The bodybuilder uploaded a clip where two men stood on raised platforms and handed Wheels 200 lb dumbbells. While many people have 200 lbs bench press PRs, Larry Wheels was about to inclined press with the dumbbells for reps. This wasn’t his first attempt. A few days ago, the powerlifter successfully repped 400 lbs dumbbell presses. However, this time things went wrong.

One of the spotters, struggling to hand Larry Wheels a 200 lb dumbbell, slipped and fell. Fortunately, he managed to stay upright and avoided serious injury to himself and Wheels. “Near death experience trying to grab the 200s,” the arm-wrestling enthusiast wrote in the caption. While the 29-year-old might be super strong, not everyone around him is in the same league. In fact, fans were certain that there was no escaping ‘The Larry Wheels Curse.’
