Arnold Schwarzenegger is probably the first name that comes to the mind of millions of people when they think of bodybuilding. There is good reason behind that notion as the Austrian Oak became the original record setter with seven-Mr. Olympia wins. However, even more, significant was his contribution to the sport, as Schwarzenegger played a pivotal role in pulling the sport out of the shadows of myths and misconceptions.?
Hence, it’s no surprise Arnold Schwarzenegger, who worked out five hours in the gym at least six days a week, became the stand for the Hollywood superhero physique. Schwarzenegger introduced the superhero physique that nearly every leading actor boasts today. However, in 2017, the 128-lbs Wonder Woman star confessed she spent even more hours training than the former Mr. Olympia for her role.

Gal Gadot outtrained Arnold Schwarzenegger
In 2017, Gad Gadot achieved superstardom with Wonder Woman. While the Fast & Furious franchise actor was familiar with pulling action scenes and stunts, playing the DC superhero was a challenge. Like Schwarzenegger, Gadot had two years of military service under her belt and showcased immense discipline to get into superhero shape.
In a 2017 interview, the Heart of Stone star recounted how she prepared for the role. When the interviewer enquired about her training, Gadot described how hard she worked in the gym to look and feel stronger than she had ever felt.?“I was prepping for this one five or six months before we started to shoot this movie,”?said the Gadot.
“Every day I worked out for about six hours,”?added the 38-year-old. Hence, the 128-lbs actor trained a full hour more than the 240-lbs Arnold Schwarzenegger did. However, Gal Gadot’s training looked a lot different than Schwarzenegger’s.
How did Gal Gadot train to become Wonder Woman?
The 38-year-old said she lifted?“a lot of weights” in the gym for two out of the six hours. So what did she do for four hours? Gadot’s trainer and dietician, Magnus Lygdback, explained how he trained the action star for her role. Lygdback focused on various aspects of training, such as functional strength, mobility, endurance, and agility.
While Gadot gained muscle for the role, it wasn’t her primary objective. The Wonder Woman star also trained in various martial arts, including learning how to fight with spears, swords, and shields. She also followed a strict and monotonous diet, making steady progress.
