Five-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead started the new year with an announcement for his fans. With no plans to compete in the Arnold Classic 2024, the bodybuilding icon with over 22 million Instagram followers announced a competition of his own. However, the Classic Physique competitor will act as the judge this time.

Chris Bumstead issued a transformation challenge to his fans. The Canadian bodybuilding icon announced that sign-ups for the challenge have “officially” opened. However, only limited slots are available, and those willing to participate should hurry up. Cbum has incentivized the challenge with cash prizes for three winners who’ll be selected after the challenge ends.

The winner of the Transformation Challenge will receive $6000, while the runner-up will receive $2,500. Cbum will choose the third winner from a different category, “Overall Weight loss Transformation.” The winner of the category will also receive $2500. “These contestants will be selected based on overall fat loss and/or muscle gain,” clarified the five-time champion.

Additionally, Cbum clarified that he would choose the winners through before/after photos and not based on their weight difference on the scale. While the competition starts on 14 January 2023, the sign-up will close when the limited slots fill up. This isn’t the first time Chris Bumstead has done something like this, but it’s the first time he’ll choose three winners instead of two. It seems the reigning Classic Physique champion is taking it easy during the early stages of the off-season.

Shortly after winning his fifth title, the Canadian bodybuilding icon announced that he and his finance would soon become parents. The soon-to-be-parents announced they would welcome a baby girl into their family. After the gender reveal, Bumstead wrote a heartfelt note. In the post, the 28-year-old explained that he can’t wait to become a father.

The bodybuilder explained that throughout his life he has learned the necessity of both masculine and feminine qualities. CBum said that the masculine qualities, like being “strong, confident, resilient,” and the feminine qualities, like being “selfless, empathetic, and vulnerable,” will become even more relevant as he prepares to raise his child.
