However, The Terminator star didn’t have anything positive to say about the sequel’s fate. The legendary filmmaker who made the 1988 original passed away in 2022. Arnold Schwarzenegger had no qualms pointing a finger

Legendary filmmaker Ivan Reitman, famous for creating the iconic Ghostbuster franchise, worked with Schwarzenegger in 1988. With Danny DeVito as the co-lead, Reitman made Twins. While the movie didn’t have glowing reviews from the critics, people loved it. The acting pair had great chemistry, which led to the film’s financial success.

Twins became such a classic that even decades later, Reitman wanted to make a sequel to the original. Arnie, who was looking to make a return to acting, and DeVito joined the sequel. The filmmaker had also decided on a title, “Triplets.” However, after his death in February 2022, the project halted.

Initially, things didn’t look so dire because Ivan Reitman’s son, Jason Reitman, is a multiple-time Oscar-nominated director. However, Jason had no interest in carrying forward his father’s vision. “Jason Reitman f***ed it up! Jason Reitman literally stopped the project,” Schwarzenegger told The Hollywood Reporter. The $450 million net-worth star said he, DeVito, and Ivan Reitman “wanted to do it really badly,” but Jason had other ideas.
