Mind-Numbing 1080 Lbs Squat by Powerlifting Record Holder Breaks the Internet: “Nothing Short of Astonishing”

There are many who indulge in powerlifting, but only a few get their names etched in record books, like the eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman and the insane PR hitter in the gym, Larry Wheels. However, another athlete has started making waves in the fitness world for lifting immense weights for quite some time now. 

Zahir Khudayarov, a Finland-based powerlifter recently hit his all-time best squat and showcased it to the world through his social media. As the powerlifter continues to make waves, he is set to join an elite club of lifters with his intense squats.

The bodybuilding Instagram page “generationiron” recently posted a video of the immense 1080-pound squat performed by the Finland-based powerlifter. During his training session, he did two reps of squats with different weights. Khudayarov did the first rep with 1003 pounds, and the last rep with 1080 pounds. Three spotters with the powerlifter cheered him on as soon as he hit his all-time best.

The Finland-based athlete did the rep easily, marking a new milestone in his powerlifting journey. With this lift, he moved one step closer to his lifelong dream of joining the elite group of people who have squatted 1102 pounds. Khudayarov only needs to add around 20 pounds to make his dream come true, and he is constantly training for this.

The powerlifter also posted his squat on his Instagram account and shared the details of his upcoming competition. Khudayarov captioned the post, “Waiting for you on June 1st at Pad.C7 Stand Zahir for my «+500kg Squat» Show!!” This will not be the first time the Finland-based powerlifter marks a new milestone.

The powerlifter has had a successful run throughout his career and has won 17 titles out of the 24 sanctioned competitions he has participated in. On the other hand, Khudayarov fans were impressed by his all-time best squat and showered him with praise in the comments section.

An admirer of Khudayarov commented on the minimal recognition he gets and wrote, “Ahh, sad that probably a lot of the followers on this page don’t know who Zahir is and the shit he could do in his prime.” A bodybuilding enthusiast commented on the comeback the Finland-based powerlifter is making and wrote, “People don’t realize, but we are literally witnessing history with his come back. If he was to hit all his top singles this spring 1080/633/915 – that would be the heaviest total of all time at 2,628. He isn’t even a super heavyweight, he isn’t even a 308, Zahir is a 275.

The fan didn’t just stop there and continued further, calling him the best powerlifter. “This comeback has been nothing short of astonishing. If he pulls this off, he will be without argument, one of, if not the best powerlifter of all time.” Another fitness fan called this moment “Serendipity.” One more fan commented on the raw strength possessed by the powerlifter and wrote, “This moved way too easy… absolutely insane amount of power behind this squat.”
