Just like everyone in the bodybuilding community, Ronnie Coleman, the eight-time Mr. Olympia’s life has been full of surprises. He has achieved notable milestones in the bodybuilding industry, but he never dreamed of becoming a bodybuilder in his life.

Coleman ran a bunch of errands before reaching the pinnacle of the bodybuilding realm. The 59-year-old former bodybuilder opened up about his teenage dream, highlighting the unpredictable nature of life. Moreover, he posted a picture of him well-suited and leaving for church, thanking God for everything he has achieved till now. Let’s find out what Coleman would have become if not a bodybuilder.

The King’s devotion to God throughout his journey

‘The King’ is a god-fearing person and has always credited the almighty for the 26 titles under his name in the bodybuilding world. He has followed the Lord’s way since the beginning of his career. The King has not left the chance to praise God, even in his recent post. He wrote in the caption, “Just another lazy Sunday so I might as well go to Church and Praise God. Because God is good all the time but most importantly all the the God is good.”

The 59-year-old shed light on the fact, “never wanted to be a bodybuilder in life. I wanted to be a professional football player.” After he met his friend, Brian Dobson, he came to realize the truth -“Life is not about what you wanna be, it’s about what God wants you to be,” explained Coleman. He further mentioned that only God has control over our lives.

The former pro bodybuilder concluded his caption by showing his gratitude to God for making him eight-time Mr. Olympia. He wrote, “Because God knows I never dreamed of being one time Mr Olympia. Praise God for calling me to be the person I am today, Praise God, Praise God, Praise God, Prrrrraaaiiissseee God.”

Coleman used to hit the gym in his teenage years just so he could dominate the football field. His football skills helped him earn a college scholarship at Grambling State University. He represented his university on the football field, playing as a middle linebacker.

He revealed that once in a football match, he ended up with 14 solo tackles, two sacks, and an interception. The scouts were impressed by Coleman’s performance and said, “If you play like this, we’re going to draft you.” But, it wasn’t meant to be. He suffered a neck injury while tackling a quarterback on the field. This changed the trajectory of his life and ultimately ended up being eight-time Mr. Olympia.
