Celebrities often need to transform for their role in a movie, just like the well-known Hollywood actor Jack Gyllenhaal did for his latest movie. Gyllenhaal did the movie Roadhouse with the UFC star Conor McGregor. Many bodybuilding critics have made countless videos on Gellenhaal’s transformation, and now IFBB Pro coaches Greg Doucette and Eric Janicki have also made it to the list.

Janicki recently uploaded a video on his YouTube channel inviting Doucette and passing their verdict on the Hollywood actor’s training regime with his partner Eric Janicki. The Roadhouse actor has previously faced criticism for his transformation. Now let’s see if he can impress the Pro Coach and Janicki.

Both the coaches found the training plan skeptical from the beginning, and as soon as Gyllenhaal did his first warm-up set with sticks, Doucette passed his verdict. “This is nonsense. This is nonsense; he says we’re going to increase the core temperature by doing some weird stretches on a stick,” said the IFFB Pro. Further, he advised the Hollywood actor to use a bicycle or treadmill to move the body.

The next few exercises included proteus motion drills to increase power production and priming the nervous system. Janikci commented on the workout and said, “It’s not going to make you faster by any means; it’s just a way to make it seem cooler with this crazy device, but at the end of the day, in terms of when you’re in the gym, you need to be maximizing hypertrophy or muscle retention, in my opinion.”

He explained that it is not possible to combine bench press and boxing and labeled the exercise “ridiculous.” He added that you cannot build nearly as much muscle by using 30% of your maximum weight and repping it out with explosive power. While wrapping up the cardio workout, Doucette said, “He’s taking away from his workout; he’s actually making it harder to go hard. If you do all this cardio and this explosive stuff beforehand, you’ll have less energy, you won’t be able to pushes hard you’ll get less muscle.” Then the Hollywood actor moved to strength exercises.

Both internet personalities don’t approve of the Hollywood actor’s strength training

Gyllenhaal started his strength training with a weighted sledge, and Douccete accused him of just acting. The fitness influencer suggested the actor of Roadhouse stick with good movement patterns for building muscles. “You might get some good glute drive with the sled push, but you’re really getting very minimal knee flexion; you’re not getting much stretch out of the quad; you’re not getting almost any hamstring activation whatsoever; it’s just that it’s a performative exercise,” explained Janicki.

Continuing in the video, Gyllenhaal was seen doing a cold plunge right after his training, and Doucette highlighted that “If you’re actually trying to get jacked, the ice backs they’re not going to help you at all, and in fact it’ll make it worse.” Then the Hollywood actor moved on to squats, and this was the only exercise done by Gyllenhaal, which both coaches praised. But overall, the coaches didn’t approve of the workout and don’t recommend following it.

After the fitness influencer and IFBB coach both highlighted the flaws in the Roadhouse actor’s training regime, what are your views on the matter? Let us know in the comments.
